Oumi Fall Launch: FAiE builds agents end to end and plugs into existing harnesses for eval and DPO
On November 4, Seattle startup Oumi expanded Frontier AI Engineer (FAiE) from a model-training helper into a workflow that covers agent building, evaluation, data, and deployment. Teams can describe a goal in plain language, wire tools, compare models, and turn production failures into evaluation sets and training data. Bring Your Own Harness lets customers keep their own orchestration, tools, and memory while connecting Oumi for evaluation and model improvement. Alongside supervised fine-tuning, the launch adds direct preference optimization (DPO) so preference pairs can tighten policy adherence and communication. The launch page walks through end-to-end flows for support and financial-services agents.
Why it matters
Getting agents past demos often stalls on evaluation and weight updates; this puts build, eval, and preference tuning in one flow while letting teams keep their harness.
