Paradev relicenses its desktop app for running several coding agents at once under MIT

Paradev, the coding tool formerly called Superset, announced on November 5 that it is now open source under the MIT license. It previously used the Elastic License 2.0, which kept the code public but barred others from offering it as a hosted service; MIT allows free modification and commercial use. Paradev is not a coding agent itself. It is a desktop app for running command-line agents such as Claude Code, Codex and Gemini CLI side by side, with each task on its own Git branch and working copy, plus in-app review, commits, pull requests and web previews. Users bring their own agent subscriptions and API keys, and Paradev does not proxy model calls.

Why it matters

Conductor, a similar tool, just said it is joining Meta and shutting its cloud service. Paradev pitches itself as an open-source alternative to Conductor and the Codex app, and MIT lets teams modify and self-host it freely.
