Google unveils frontier model Gemini 4 Carbon, focused on cybersecurity and long-horizon tasks, initially for select cyber defenders
Google DeepMind released Gemini 4 Carbon on Oct 28, saying it ranks first on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index v5.0 at 59 and scores 88.2% on SEC-bench Pro, 54.8% on ExploitGym and 71.0% on CWE-bench (vendor figures). A subset of cyber defenders gets access this week, with developers and consumers to follow; launch pricing is $2/$10 per million input/output tokens.
Why it matters
About four weeks after announcing Gemini 4 Argon (Sep 30; generally available Oct 13), Google is leading its new flagship with vulnerability finding, exploit validation and patching, again rolling out to restricted users first.
