Revolut makes self-hosted open GLM the default coding model for its 2,000 engineers

Many firms pay vendors like Anthropic or OpenAI per use for AI coding, so high costs mean caps. Revolut's head of AI operations, David Abitbol, told the AI Engineer conference it now self-hosts the open GLM model as the default coding model for about 2,000 engineers. That costs about $0.30 per million tokens, a tenth of the old bill. With no caps, coding time fell about 60%. GLM only handles text.

Why it matters

Teams weighing AI coding costs get a real cost and productivity account of a large financial company running an open model on its own hardware.
