NTT Docomo Business trials conversational AI in Aizuwakamatsu with ElevenLabs
NTT Docomo Business, working with the Takeda Health Foundation and with help from the city, is trialing a voice community platform in Aizuwakamatsu, Fukushima, built on ElevenAgents, where its CONN assistant gives local information and conversation to older residents who struggle to leave home in heavy snow. The company's generative AI taskforce says voice quality decided the choice, since Japanese speech synthesis often sounds stilted. The team also sees uses in its telephony infrastructure and multilingual support for Japanese tourism.
Central to the partnership is CONN, NTT Docomo Business's AI assistant, powered by ElevenAgents.
