tldraw v5.3.0 introduces commenting, with new packages such as @tldraw/commenting that anchor comment threads to a point, a shape, a text range, a region or the page and let people reply, edit, react, resolve and delete. Commenting is the first part of a new collaboration package, a separately licensed area of the SDK for premium collaboration features. Geo shapes can now be flipped, and image cropping supports snapping and symmetric resizing, while @tldraw/editor drops usePassThroughMouseOverEvents. Because the comment record types carry guard migrations, older SDK clients are turned away once the server registers them, so the new client should ship first or at the same time.
Roll out the upgraded client before or alongside the server change.
