Open WebUI v0.12.4 contains security fixes, and the project recommends updating all deployments as soon as possible, noting that the fixes are not listed in the changelog and advisories will follow CVE assignment. The Docker image now runs Python 3.12 on Debian 13, so custom functions, tools and packages installed with pip inside the container need versions that support Python 3.12, and MCP_INITIALIZE_TIMEOUT now also limits listing tools and reading resources, so slow MCP servers may need a higher value. Administrators can also turn on loading selected skills on demand, which is off by default.
