PageIndex v0.5.3 makes Flash the local default for layout-based trees and unifies local and cloud behind one client for submit, tree, page content, chat, and agent tools.
Node summaries use the lowest thinking level each model accepts to cut cost and latency, indexing skips prompt-cache writes it never reads, and an unsupported reasoning_effort now fails at construction instead of being dropped.
Index, to chat, to agent integration, one client. Local mode needs no server, no vector DB, no PageIndex API key.
