Build a Harness That Builds Itself
LobeHub argues that the model alone is no longer the product, since the harness that manages context, tools, permissions, errors and lifecycle decides whether agents finish jobs, and it goes stale as models and tools change. The team built agent operation tracing that records each run's model calls, costs and steps and automatically inspects error patterns. LobeHub says the agent used this to find more than 20 defects in the harness, such as incompatible tool schemas and a negative max_tokens, lifting its success rate from about 75 percent to above 95 percent.
Since this inspection started running, our agent success rate has gone from roughly 75% to above 95%.
