December 2025 - npx shadcn create
shadcn/ui has launched npx shadcn create, which lets users choose a component library, icons, base color, theme and fonts to produce their own version of shadcn/ui, starting with five visual styles named Vega, Nova, Maia, Lyra and Mira. The settings rewrite component code rather than just recoloring it, and every component was rebuilt for Base UI so projects can pick Radix or Base UI. It works with Next.js, Vite, TanStack Start and v0.
Your config doesn't just change colors, it rewrites the component code to match your setup.
