Claude Code with Anthropic API compatibility
Starting with v0.14.0, Ollama is compatible with the Anthropic Messages API, so Claude Code can run on open models locally or on Ollama's cloud. Pointing ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL at the local Ollama address also lets existing Anthropic SDK apps switch over. The layer supports multi-turn messages, streaming, system prompts, tool calling, extended thinking and image input, and Ollama recommends at least 32K tokens of context.
Existing applications using the Anthropic SDK can connect to Ollama by changing the base URL.
