Why Sumble replaced Jupyter with marimo, from notebooks to apps
Sumble, founded by Kaggle founder Anthony Goldbloom, says it used to shuttle between Jupyter and other tools, and a simple React data app once took two weeks to build and share. With marimo, notebooks became reusable apps and the product now serves as the company's system of record for analytics and internal tools. The whole sales team reportedly uses marimo apps every day, dashboards need almost no upkeep, and agents such as Claude Code help the team build AI-driven internal tools.
marimo has evolved from a simple prototyping tool into Sumble’s system of record for analytics and internal applications.
