Introducing marimo
marimo makes its debut as an open-source reactive Python notebook that is saved as Python files, works with Git, runs as a script and can be deployed as an app. The author lists Jupyter's hidden state, poor reproducibility, painful versioning and limited reuse, citing a JetBrains analysis of 10 million GitHub notebooks that found 36 percent could not be reproduced. In marimo, cells rerun automatically when their dependencies change, and built-in UI elements such as sliders, a dataframe transformer and interactive plots stay synced with Python.
Traditional Python notebooks excel when used as a visual Python console.
