Using Claude Code with marimo

marimo argues that agentic coding tools such as Claude Code pair better with its notebooks than with Jupyter, because marimo files are Python rather than JSON, run as reproducible dataflow programs and let interactive elements be created in code. The post offers tips such as giving Claude an existing notebook as a model, using planning mode for large edits and having Claude run the notebook as a script to check its work. The authors suggest letting Claude make the edits while the human watches results in the notebook and stays involved.

Agents work best when they can test what they’ve done.
