Bun is joining Anthropic
Bun announced it has been acquired by Anthropic, which will use Bun as the infrastructure behind Claude Code, Claude Agent SDK and future AI coding products. Bun says the project stays open source under the MIT license, built in public on GitHub and maintained by the same team. The post notes Bun has $0 in revenue, had raised $26 million with over four years of runway, and saw monthly downloads grow 25% in October 2025 to more than 7.2 million.
Claude Code ships as a Bun executable to millions of users. If Bun breaks, Claude Code breaks.
