How I trained a coding agent on molab
A computer science student in India describes fine-tuning Qwen2.5-Coder-7B-Instruct into Chitti, a locally run coding assistant meant to keep code on company servers and refuse fewer security-related requests. After leaving Colab and Kaggle for molab, he ran training, evaluation and deployment entirely in marimo notebooks. He claims Chitti beats both DeepSeek-Coder-7B and the base Qwen2.5-Coder-7B on three benchmarks, and says building a reproducible evaluation pipeline was the hardest part.
Moving to marimo on molab changed everything.
