OpenAI and Oracle expand partnership to bring Oracle apps and data into ChatGPT, with Codex-based App Composer and a security product

OpenAI and Oracle said on October 27 they are expanding their partnership. Oracle is developing Oracle AI Workspace to bring its apps and data into ChatGPT, and launching AI Security Mesh using OpenAI cyber models, an SMB bundle with ChatGPT Business and Codex, and App Composer for building Codex apps deployed on OCI. US customers can buy OpenAI API, Codex and ChatGPT Work via Oracle Marketplace.

Why it matters

OpenAI is pushing ChatGPT and Codex into core enterprise systems while Oracle uses them to drive its apps and cloud; AI Workspace is still in development, and no launch date or deal value was given.
