Atlas Bio, which simulates drug trials with an AI foundation model, raises $10M seed led by Creandum
Basel-based Atlas Bio left stealth on Oct 27 with a $10M seed led by Creandum, plus an earlier $2.5M pre-seed led by First Momentum Ventures and LEA Partners ($12.5M total). It says its foundation model, trained on about 2 million human RNA readouts, simulates drug efficacy and safety in virtual patients, in about 12 weeks, to replace parts of Phase II trials and animal studies.
Why it matters
Foundation models for in-silico trials are a new AI-for-drugs bet; the claim that simulations can stand in for Phase II trials is the company's and still unproven.
