SAP unveils SAP-RPT-2.0 tabular model and opens Joule agents to MCP and A2A through a governed gateway

At TechEd, SAP announced SAP-RPT-2.0, a tabular foundation model adding anomaly and outlier detection plus embeddings, and SAP-RPT-TS for forecasting. Joule Work now uses MCP and A2A, letting third-party agents call Joule Agents through a governed gateway; a new SAP Enterprise AI Gateway centralizes AI traffic control. Joule Studio offers 70+ models.

Why it matters

SAP is opening its business agents to open agent protocols while routing access through a gateway for permissions, auditing and usage tracking, so outside agents can work inside SAP systems.
