Digital Science said on Oct 29 it has acquired Jenni AI; terms weren't disclosed. Jenni AI is an AI research and writing assistant the company says has more than 8 million users. In the coming months it will connect to Dimensions, a database of 171 million publications, to find sources and check citations. Jenni stays standalone with the same team and pricing.

Why it matters

General AI tools often invent references, so academic writing tools are moving toward grounding in real publication databases. Jenni AI now sits alongside Overleaf and ReadCube under one research-data company.
