Use Your ChatGPT Subscription in Zed
Zed users can now sign into the editor's agent with a ChatGPT account and use OpenAI models with the same allowance they get in Codex, included in their ChatGPT plan. Zed contrasts this with Anthropic and GitHub Copilot, which are moving to separate or usage-based billing, while OpenAI keeps supporting subscription access for third-party tools. Besides the built-in agent, users can run Codex via an ACP adapter, use the Codex CLI in a Zed terminal or bring their own OpenAI API key.
