Cline Desktop v0.0.31 lets Cline operate on a remote host through SSH while the app stays on your computer: agent tools, workspace discovery, Git metadata and session persistence run on the host, approvals and live session events come back to the desktop, and only the authenticated Cline Hub protocol travels through the tunnel. The host key must already be trusted by your SSH client, unknown or changed keys are rejected, and the first connection uploads a self-contained helper to ~/.cline/remote/ without needing root access, a global install or a public port.
Cline can now work on a remote machine over SSH, with the app itself staying local.
