Introducing Zed's Agent Metrics

Zed launched Agent Metrics, a public weekly page showing session counts, turns and response-time distributions for AI agents used inside Zed, drawn only from users who opted into data collection. The data shows claude-sonnet-4-6's p90 latency rising 44 percent in three weeks, from 294 to 425 seconds, and across 2 million sessions and 15.4 million turns in 90 days, Zed's native agent leads on sessions while Claude Agent runs deeper sessions. Zed stresses that the figures describe usage behavior and are not a verdict on which agent is best.

Session counts and turn counts do not measure outcome quality. A shorter session might produce better code.
