Traversal raises $120M Series B at a $1B valuation for AI agents that investigate production outages
Traversal, a startup building AI agents for site reliability engineering, has raised a $120 million Series B at a $1 billion valuation. Kleiner Perkins, Redpoint Ventures and Khosla Ventures co-led the round, with Sequoia and Battery Ventures taking part; Kleiner Perkins and Sequoia were existing investors. Traversal investigates outages in production systems. It turns logs, metrics, traces, code and deployment history into something AI agents can query, then has them test many hypotheses in parallel to find the chain of events that actually caused a failure, not just signals that fired together. The company says the money will give AI a more active role in production, such as Traversal Workers, long-running agents that start investigating as soon as an anomaly appears.
Why it matters
As AI writes more code, debugging it in production gets harder, and investors are betting on agents that can find the root cause of outages on their own.
