Poki open-sources v0.1.0: control a real iPhone from a Mac via MCP, no jailbreak or extra gear

Independent developer JosssphZhou released Poki v0.1.0, its first public build. A Mac controller pairs with a physical iPhone over USB so an agent can see the screen and tap, swipe, and type in real iOS apps—no jailbreak or extra hardware. It ships a local MCP server for Claude Code, Codex, or other MCP clients using your own model subscription, plus a standalone agent for the terminal or iMessage. The notarized Apple-silicon package needs macOS 15+; physical phones still need full Xcode. License: AGPL-3.0-only. Docs note physical checks so far cover Chinese UIs in portrait only, and warn that requested messages or payments will run, with screen contents sent to the configured model.

Why it matters

It turns a real iPhone into a programmable surface so coding agents can drive actual iOS apps without simulators or vendor automation stacks.
