OpenHands and Snowflake let developers train models directly inside their own agent setup

OpenHands, the open-source coding agent, and Snowflake AI Research have released a post-training workflow: instead of building a separate training framework, developers can run reinforcement learning on their existing OpenHands agent setup, with its prompts, tools, skills and turn limits, to tune an open model for their own tasks. Training tasks use the open Harbor format, the test script's score is the reward, and Snowflake Cortex Training supplies the GPUs. In a code localization test with Qwen3.5-4B, the whole run took a few hours and matched a purpose-built reinforcement learning setup.

Why it matters

Agent setup and model training used to be separate systems; combining them lets small teams train a model specifically for their own agent.
