Gemini app can now generate, preview and edit documents, PDFs, slides and spreadsheets in chat

Google says the Gemini app can now generate, preview and edit files inside a chat: users can expand a file to full screen and type edits, highlight text to ask questions, or have Gemini revise it. PDF preview and editing work on web and mobile; Google Docs, Sheets, slide decks, Markdown, TXT and code are web-only for now. It is available to users in every language the Gemini app supports.

Why it matters

Files made in Gemini can now be revised without leaving the app for Docs or Sheets.
