CrowdStrike agrees to buy AI security startups Fiddler and Dreadnode
CrowdStrike announced on November 3 that it has signed agreements to acquire Fiddler AI and Dreadnode. Fiddler monitors AI agents: it evaluates them before launch, then traces their reasoning and tool calls in production and flags when they drift off course. It will join CrowdStrike's platform as Falcon Observe. Dreadnode automatically runs known attacks such as jailbreaks and prompt injection against models and agents to find weak spots. CrowdStrike did not disclose prices; The Wall Street Journal reported a combined total of about $495 million. Both deals are expected to close by the end of January 2027.
Why it matters
As companies roll out AI agents, security vendors are moving to cover both what agents do and whether they can be attacked.
